Interests
A few subjects I read about and keep returning to, set down as interests rather than as credentials. They reflect where my attention tends to go outside of work.
Health, wellness, and fitness
I read broadly across health, fitness, and training, and I am interested in how consistent physical practice supports long-term function and well-being. I also follow how healthcare systems are organized, and where they serve people well and where they fall short.
Process optimization
This covers how complex processes are measured, modeled, and improved, from industrial operations to everyday systems. I am most interested in the places where existing tooling is inadequate and where quantitative methods could meaningfully improve how a process runs.
Energy generation, storage, and grid
I follow how electricity is generated, stored, and moved across the grid, and how large energy projects get financed, permitted, and built. The economics and policy frameworks that decide which projects move forward interest me as much as the underlying technology.
Macro industrial economics
I am interested in how supply chains form, how industrial clusters develop, and what determines whether a region captures the value of its natural resources locally or exports them as raw materials. These dynamics are directly relevant to Atlantic Canada and its economic trajectory.
